Rockies Weekly with Jim Tracy

Creative Director Joel Niebauer wanted the look to be different than most sports packages. He didn't want shiny metallic 3D logos. He wanted a unique, hand drawn and timeless look.

The total package included a 30 second Opening Animation, 15 Segment Animations, 8 Graphic Transitions, a Tease Window, a Statistic Board Background, as well as a few other elements.

The first step was to create the show's logo and "look" for the package. The "Rockies Weekly" type face was custom built. This meant customizing the type of all 15 segment animations as well.

We worked on the opening throughout the project. I did all of the portrait drawings with a pencil, paper, and a scanner. No fancy plug-ins were used.

The project was an absolute blast and a wonderful opportunity.
